rational numbers can be expressed in fractional form, a/b, where a (the numerator) and b (the denominator) are both integers and not equal. irrational numbers are numbers that cannot be written as a ratio of two integers. irrational numbers are non-repeating and non-terminating decimals because the decimal form of the numbers never ends and never repeats.

Perhaps the simplest family of functions to become acquainted with is the linear functions. Linear functions include the constant functions (same output for every input), the functions that increase at a positive rate, and the functions that decrease at a negative rate. Also, it is this constancy that is the best way to recognize a situation in which linear functions will provide a good model. If we think of constant functions as increasing or decreasing at a constant rate of 0 (i.e., they don't increase or decrease at all).

introduction to functions is learning what the differences in linear graphs. function is the rule that establishes a relationship between two quantities. in/output table- diagram that matches up corresponding inputs and outputs.
in class, we have been learning how to solve linear systems by elimination. to solve linear systems by elimination, first you've got to multiply one or both equations to make sure the coefficients of a variable are opposites. next, you add the equations. then, find the value of one variable. after doing that, substitute answer back into one of the equations. and at last you write your solution as (x,y).
don't worry, this test is not a test to see if your dumb or not. its a test to grade you on how much you get the math problems and to see if you understand them. all eight graders in the Fresno unified school district will be taking the same exact test. because the district wants to make sure that all the teachers are supposed to be teaching what their supposed to be teaching.
when graphing lines using slope-intercept form first you have to plot the y-intercept which is the number that is in front if the variable. then you have to find the slope and write it as a fraction. the slope is the number of the variable. and for last you're gong to form the y-intercept and plot the second point using the slope.
on tnusday we ahd taken a test on unit 2.what we had learned is to tell whether a relationship or expression involving one or more variables. also to solve one step equations and simplify one step equations. one step equations are an equation that needs two steps to solve.
