there is three most familiar states of matter. those states of matter are solid, liquid, and gas.the states of matter are the physical forms of a substance. the states of matter depends on the motions of particles.
today we had to work on our study guide for chapter 3 test. on the study guide it was pretty challenging because i did not understand half of the stuff it was talking about. so im pretty sure that i might fail that test. i have to study a lot. also in class we have watched a 20 min video about chemical properties, physical properties, and chemical properties. it was really interesting.
chemical properties are characteristics of a material that become evident when the material undergoes a chemical reaction or chemical change. People cannot observe chemical properties by simply viewing or touching a sample of the material; the actual structure of the material must be changed in order for people to observe the chemical properties.
a chemical change is a change that occurs when one or more substances change into entirely new substances with diffident properties. example of a chemical change is when you bake cake. after you put it in the oven and bake it, you cant put it back from where it was being made. a physical change is a change of matter from one from to another without a change in chemical properties. an example of a physical change is when you put mint inside a soda. it will explode right? that's because the substances that the mint has has an effect on the soda.
